Community and partnerships
Vitni is being built as a portable credential platform for organizations that issue and verify Open Badges. The product direction has a self-hostable Community edition and an additive Business edition for organizations that need managed operations and enterprise controls.
Community Edition
Section titled “Community Edition”The planned Community edition keeps the daily credential workflow useful to a self-hosted operator: author achievements, issue and deliver credentials, manage issuer identity, verify and revoke awards, export signed documents, and operate without a Vitni-hosted dependency.
The Community license and contribution policy are still being decided. Vitni does not currently publish a Community license or contribution terms. Those terms will be published before the project is described as open source or code contributions are accepted under them.
Business Edition
Section titled “Business Edition”The Business offer is planned to add managed hosting, enterprise administration, integrations, support, and service commitments. It must preserve the same credential meaning, issuer identity, public verification, and portability. Removing a Business module or changing an organization’s plan must not invalidate issued credentials.
Partnership paths
Section titled “Partnership paths”- Interoperability: contribute test cases and exchange scenarios for issuers, verifiers, and recipient wallets.
- Pilot programs: bring a training, education, association, or community workflow to test against the current product.
- Sponsorship: help fund public work such as documentation, accessibility, security review, interoperability testing, and maintenance.
- Implementation partners: help operators deploy and integrate the self-hosted stack once deployment and contribution boundaries are published.
There are no listed sponsors or partnership commitments yet. A public contact route will be published when Vitni has a confirmed project contact.
Current project status
Section titled “Current project status”The repository roadmap tracks licensing, contribution policy, Community and Business boundaries, and feature phases. The product pages describe the intended direction, not a finalized commercial offer.
