Create a learning pathway

A learning pathway groups achievements into a larger program. Recipients can see milestones, prerequisites, optional steps, and their progress based on credentials they have claimed.

  1. Publish the achievement definitions the program will use in Credential studio.
  2. Open your organization workspace and choose Pathways.
  3. Create a pathway, add a name and description, then add published achievements in order.
  4. Add a milestone group label when several achievements belong together.
  5. Mark achievements as required or optional. Optional steps do not block pathway completion.
  6. Add prerequisites from earlier steps when a learner should complete them first.
  7. Choose Public pathway page to share the sequence, or Private to organization members to keep it inside your workspace.
  8. Save the draft and publish it when it is ready.

The public pathway page shows earned, remaining, expired, and revoked steps for a signed-in recipient. A step is earned when the recipient has claimed a matching credential that is not expired or revoked. Later steps can be marked as waiting when a prerequisite is not earned.

Pathway completion is calculated from required achievements. Vitni does not automatically issue a pathway credential; the issuer decides whether to award one.

Edits to a published pathway appear on its public page immediately and are recorded in the organization’s audit log. Existing credentials remain signed snapshots; changing the pathway does not alter the credential documents.

Public pathways expose their description and achievement sequence. Recipient progress is available only to the signed-in recipient whose claimed credentials are used to calculate it.
