Self-hosting status

Current status

Vitni’s self-hosted product path is not production-ready yet. The repository includes Docker Compose and setup commands for local development; it does not yet include the approved guided self-hosted initial setup, production hardening, backup/restore workflow, or platform-operator administration.

Use Local development to run the development environment. Do not treat those local settings, secrets, ports, or identity-provider defaults as a production installation guide.

Before a production deployment

The remaining work includes a documented install and upgrade path, production identity-provider setup, secure key custody and rotation/recovery, backup and restore, operational metrics, SMTP configuration, storage configuration, and security review. The hosted SaaS infrastructure and managed signing-key provider are also not selected yet.

This page will become a step-by-step installation guide after those product and operations paths are implemented and reviewed. For now, follow the repository implementation status for the active gaps.
