This guide follows the current Vitni workspace. For the full local environment setup, see Local development.
1. Sign in
Section titled “1. Sign in”Open the Vitni workspace and choose Continue with Vitni. Sign-in uses the OIDC identity provider configured for your deployment. In the local development realm, account registration is enabled.
2. Create an organization
Section titled “2. Create an organization”From Organizations, create an organization with a display name and URL-safe workspace slug. The creator becomes its owner. Vitni creates one issuer profile for the organization.
3. Set up the issuer profile
Section titled “3. Set up the issuer profile”Open the organization’s Issuer profile. Add the public name, a short description, optional website, and contact email. Review these details carefully, then select Publish issuer identity. Issuer publication is required before issuing credentials and assigns a stable identifier that cannot be changed later.
4. Define and publish an achievement
Section titled “4. Define and publish an achievement”Open Credential studio, create an achievement definition, and fill in its name, description, criteria, skills, and optional standards alignments. Save it as a draft, review the preview, then publish it. Only published achievements can be issued.
5. Issue an award
Section titled “5. Issue an award”Open Credentials, choose the published achievement, and issue it to one recipient or upload a CSV batch. Vitni signs each issued credential and creates a seven-day claim link for the recipient.
The printable certificate is a view of the signed credential; the JSON-LD credential remains the portable, verifiable artifact. See Issue and deliver and Verify and print for details.
